How To Size A Cake Stand For Wedding Cake
What size cake stand?
I'm having a travel wedding. I would love information technology if my cake stand could exist a flat, hard, antiquarian suitcase.
The girl who answered the telephone at my cake vendor's shop said that for a 4 tiered cake (for 150 people) the stand must exist 22 inches.
All the same...I have already seen one of their 4 tiered cakes (at my venue) and it looked teeeny. Information technology was round and mine will be squared, only I imagine mine will however exist a similar size. I don't recall I'd need 22" for a block like the ane I saw. The thing is that I'm having a hard time finding an antique suitcase that's 22" all effectually.
Does 22" for a squared, 4 tiered cake sound right to y'all guys?

We needed a 19" cake stand for our cake.
A cake base of operations and cake board are unlike, just go on that in heed. The cake board is more often than not around the same size as the bottom tier. The cake base is below the block board.
I'chiliad certain you knew that already, but here was our cake:

Mine will come with its cake base, yes. I recollect I will take the plunge and buy a suitcase (my stand) that is 19" long 10 8" deep ten 24" high.

Passing forth a tip from my DOC: If using a suitcase or box or something similar for block stand up, continue in mind that cake is heavy. Seriously consider putting something IN the instance to keep the cake stand flat and to keep the suitcase from cracking/breaking.

If you buy a suitcase that isn't big enough, what will you lot do on the day of? I don't see why they would tell you 22" if yous only need 19". I would phone call the bakery again. I would double check the size they need AND I would analyze what they mean (22" circumference? 22" wide, long?).
Make sure they know it is a suitcase you will use for the stand up. That way they can give you the best idea of what you need in suitcase dimensions vs a stand up like rusticbride is using.

@rusticbride...What size was your largest cake? I don't know what size to go with and I like the wait of yours. This is my inspiration picture. We will simply have v large cakes and 1 pocket-size cake but the stand will be very similar.

Since your block is a square it would need to exist fifty-fifty 22" in length and width.

Okay...thanks ladies. Permit me call the baker again and so. Going past another iv tiered cake that I saw though... it was quite small-looking. Mine looks adequately sized on that photo, but I haven't seen it in person. It could end up being teeny likewise. Lol.
Will call once again at present.

But if they think she is using a circular stand up, they take to business relationship for the length diagonally, since the diagonal will be longer. We don't know what the cake dimensions are, so we tin only judge.
I think the easiest thing is to take a suitcase there and come across the board that they will use under your cake. Put it together and see if it fits.

Listen to the professional, the cake may be 14", and their plate that it sits on is 18" broad, and that needs to be on a flat surface that is xx-22 inches wide.
PUT BOOKS in the suitcase and staple the suitcase to the table, im not kidding. Its all less than ii feet wide, which is not that big!

@Christine, The lesser tier was our largest at 10 inches broad. The others were 6 in. and iv in. I think? We scaled the tiers dorsum, and opted for kitchen cake to go the bigger bang for our buck.

Well. Afterwards speaking to someone else, this person told me twenty" long and width. She said a firm, hard shelled suitcase would piece of work (as the one in a higher place is). @Songbird I'll stuff it with books or something simply in case. Thank yous.
Okay so. Will an inch mean the end of the world for my cake? There is a Hobby Vestibule 3 miles from the venue. If the suitcase doesn't work I can probably have someone detect another for me in that location.
Or actually, @CrystalS idea seems the surest. To take the thing over there to make sure.
Thanks girls!
